Workplace Strategy
The workplace is continuously evolving and requires a constant evaluation of trends and best practices. Especially in these last few years where a hybrid model of working from the office and working from home seems to become a standard for many companies. The main question will be, what will bring employees into the office and how can the workplace be an inclusive and supportive environment promoting productivity.
While at A+I designing for a financial firm in Hudson Yards, we created a one-of-a-kind floor plan, that got rid of the conventional layout of a traditional trading floor. By allowing teams to sit in so-called ‘pods’, we broke down the scale and created an array of opportunities for collaboration.
The trend is more and more to shy away from private offices, especially at the window line. For the Squarespace NYC HQ we created large wings of open office space with custom benching in a diverging line pattern. Amenity spaces were consolidated on the top floor and roof deck, allowing employees to take a break from their daily tasks. Interconnecting stairs allowed for easy flow between the three office floors.
There is no one solution when it comes to workplace strategy. Since office dynamics are continuously evolving, developing a comprehensive strategy that allows for future adaptability, we can create an environment that is tailored to the workforce.
