Who is Tim
With his academic and professional roots in the Netherlands, Tim has been practicing architecture and design in the US for the past 10+ years. His portfolio covers the wide spectrum of design and architecture: from urban planning and retail environments, to workplace strategy and residential high-rise design.
His practical US experience started at HWKN, designing the Fire Island Pines Pavilion and a residential tower in Jersey City, followed by 6+ years at award-winning interior architecture firm A+I. At A+I Tim worked on a number of key projects: the headquarters for Squarespace in NYC, as well as their offices in Dublin and Portland; the new headquarters for Hines in Houston; and the main office for a financial firm in Hudson Yards, NY, to name a few. In all these projects Tim acted as the lead designer and was involved from early pre-design all the way through to project realization.
Recently Tim acted as the in-house architectural designer for Peloton, overseeing a wide array of projects including 100+ retail showrooms, various office and recording studio build-outs, as well as Peloton’s ever expanding warehouse footprint.
Tim has always believed that architecture and design should inspire, be inclusive and be uplifting. While creating a narrative is essential, it should be supplemental to the experience itself, and should augment the understanding and feel of a space. Careful research and understanding of site and client will allow any creative to develop a story and design that fits and belongs. There is no one road, there is no one destination.
